Governor Kasich Declares Dallas Mavericks Honorary Ohioans
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Miami Heat's failure to win the NBA Title has the team and one of its superstars, LeBron James, receiving criticism from some unlikely sources on Monday including Ohio's Governor.
Gov. John Kasich issued a resolution on Monday declaring members of the Champion Dallas Mavericks and their fans to be "Honorary Ohioans."
According to a press release from Kasich's office, the governor praises the Maverick's for, "the loyalty, integrity and teamwork they demonstrated throughout the season."
The resolution also recognizes NBA Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki, who, " chose to keep his talents in Dallas by renewing his contract with the Mavericks in 2010 and forgoing free agency."
The resolution pokes fun at the infamous words uttered by James the night of "The Decision".
James and the Heat lost 105-95 to Dallas on Sunday night in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. The win secured the Mavericks first NBA Title.

^ lol, the cavs fans love for us has been great
thanks for the kind words everybody, i really appreciate it.
im so proud of my mavs, they stuck to their game and just left everything out on the court. the finals were just a continuation of our entire playoffs run, huge ups and downs but through determination we persevered. to be able to go on a rollercoaster ride like this post season facing fantastic, talented teams has been an honor and a pleasure.
for all you portland, LA, oklahoma city, and miami fans: you guys have nothing to be ashamed of, your teams were challenging and dynamic each step of the way. hats off to all of you.
