Craigger you know I love ya brother, but even if a Bruins player did that to a Vancouver player I would be ashamed. The hit was extremely late and he left his feet. We will see what happens to Rome in 15 mins.

Too bad we hardly have any NHL players from Stockholm, the cup never comes here. Instead it ends up in the shithole where Sedins come from.

 

Dirty hit - yes

Blindside - questionable.
The reason for that is because the hit was straight on with Hortons body and the direction he was moving. North/South as Craigger put it. The problem is his head was looking at the pass, in a different direction. Therefore he didn't see the hit. So what classifies a blindside hit? That's for the NHL to make clear. (which they won't)

Hands down it was late and entirely uncalled for. Rome will be out at least 2 games.

Personally I would suspend him for the remainder of the finals. The reason for this is a game in the Cup finals is like 5-10 regular season games, if not more. The value is so much higher.

Rome meeting with the NHL lasted 20 mins. The sports hub made a good point, if nothing happens to him then those types of hits are okay and you Canucks can watch the Sedin sisters start to drop like flys.

 

The twitter word is that Rome is out 4 games.

 

I guess Rome reached out to Horton and sent him a text saying, "I never meant to hurt you." Horton should text back a middle finger and tell him to shove it.

 

Come on Jon... the hit may have been "dirty" but for the most part I don't feel the hit was meant to cause any Major Harm.... Should he be suspended for the rest of the series? Yes, eye for an eye and his counterpart is done , so he should be as well.... For those of us who have played competitive sports (Jon I know u have) we all understand what it's like to get caught up in the moment and make an ill-advised play which has an outcome we never hoped for. No excuses for what happened, but Hockey is a brutal sport and filled with emotion, that usually is a recipe for a disaster or two.

All that being said, I feel the Bite was 100x worse and the fact that their was no suspension will bite the NHL in the arse.
