Thierry Henry Debut for RedBulls

Who plans on watching?

The game is on FSC, Thursday 7/22 at 8:30.

I'm kind of excited to see him play for NY.

He should score TONS of goals... he'll score a ton of clever goals that the inexperienced MLS keepers won't be expecting.

Yeah, 8:30 pm NY time.

I hope so, it should be fun to watch. They are playing Tottenham though, so the defending will probably be a bit more solid.

I'm excited to see him play. Once again he'll be the best player on the pitch, just like the good old days...

Did anyone watch. I thought RedBulls looked pretty good in the first half.

I thought the part in this article about him taking public transport to the game was funny:

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry scored against old foes Tottenham but he finished on the losing side on his debut for New York Red Bulls.

The 32-year-old scored in the first half when he converted a cross from Joel Lindpere past Carlo Cudicini.

Robbie Keane equalised from short range before full-back Gareth Bale fired in the winner after a defensive mix-up.

"The goals are going to come," said Henry. "The reception was great, every time I touched the ball they cheered."

The Frenchman, who took public transport to the match, played the first half, handing his number 14 shirt to Spurs midfielder Luka Modric at the whistle.

Did Henry make the right move?
Henry signed a four-and-a-half year deal with the Bulls after he was released by Barcelona.

The forward also announced his retirement from international football after the World Cup, having scored 51 goals for France in 123 appearances.

"The young bloke from that first half, Henry, looks like he's got a good future," joked Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp.

"He was fantastic. He's a different class. He's still a world class player. We were fortunate to win the game. We did OK. We're just back in training."

StringerBell is an unknown quantity at this point
Haha that public transportation thing is funny. I missed his debut here but I used to love watching him play for the Gunners. I think he'll do really well here.

Yeah, I read somewhere else that he took the train with his family and the fans, then walked from the train station with the fans to the Stadium.

I bet it's a nice change for him to have more privacy and annonimity.
