Now people say(according to polls) it's Maradonnas fault that Argentinia did not win........
do you share this opinion?
There was certainly something wrong with Argentinia and Germany revealed those weakpoints and used it to their advantage

Argentina was bad defensively during the whole tournament. That is fine against teams that do not score and just play good defense just like Paraguay which played good defense but did not score a goal in three games.

don't forget Maradona never had a training to be a football coach and more importantly never coached ANY team before. He just thought he could work his magic and walk through to the finals without having a real strategy.
And it seems Messi isn't such a big genius after all. Every player depends on his team and the World Cup just showed that he needs Barca to exploit his full potential. To his defense....Germany did perfectly in eliminating his passers in the game. If he started one of his famous dribblings, he always had to get possession of the ball in his own half

Every talanted player needs a team in order to be great. The backline is so vital to a teams success and as Schwabe already mentioned... it had been suspect all tournament long.
Also, I believe coaching and adjustments show up when you finally play world class teams. And Germany is just that, a world class team. Maradonna just didn't know what he was doing against Germany. Bad starting lineup and no adjustments.
I don't put the blame on Messi. He did what he could against the Germans... they were just out-classed in every facet of the game, to me the team wasn't prepared to play the Germans. Thats comes down to coaching.
Either way Spain will be a different story, they are master possessors and have are much stronger in the midfield and the backline when compared to Argentina. This will definitely be a great game.
