Notes from around the majors:
J.D. Drew missed Sunday's game due to a sore neck.
Jeremy Hermida took over right field duties for the day. Drew told MLB.com that the stiffness began on Friday, but that he didn't expect to miss more than Sunday's game with it.
Troy Glaus is out of the Braves lineup Sunday.
He was replaced by Eric Hinske at first base. Glaus has had a tough start to the season -- he's 5-for-24 in five game so far -- but this appears to be a day off for Glaus rather than the beginning of the Hinske era at first base.
Grady Sizemore has been scratched from Sunday's game against the Tigers.
The reason given was mid-back tightness. Hopefully this isn't a prelude to a more serious diagnosis and that Sizemore just needs a day or so to rest it.

Jason Frasor got Sunday off after pitching in three of the past four games, so Kevin Gregg closed out a 5-2 win ... Dustin Pedroia had four hits Sunday and has already matched his homer total through July 8 last season ... A.J. Burnett tossed seven innings of two-run ball Sunday despite just one strikeout ... Andre Ethier (ankle) was out of the lineup Sunday, but did ground out as a pinch-hitter ... In the past four seasons Livan Hernandez had ERAs of 5.44, 6.05, 4.93, and 4.83, so naturally he tossed seven shutout innings Sunday in his 2010 debut ... This Aroldis Chapman kid looks like the real deal. I expect him to make an impact for the Reds.
But is it a good idea to rush him to the majors? He is a 22-year old Cuban defector.

Dana, I have to say you are the man. In my 22 years on this earth I have not met anyone nicer than you sir. I would love to come out to Cali and go to an Angels game with yourself. I will say I have been to many games in my lifetime and opening day never ceases to amaze me. I have been blessed with wonderful parents. I have been to opening days, the last day at the old Bush stadium, opening day at the new Bush, playoff games as well as the world series. Baseball is life.

Nothing is better than the smell of the freshly cut grass on Opening Day.
I have been to the Angels Opening Day for 5 years in a row now and attended the Padres openers for 4 years before that.
We make it a family affair now and all go together - even my two young daughters. They like the hot dogs and nachos.
If you find yourself in So Cal, all you have to do is let me know and we will catch a game together. It would be my pleasure!
I wish the Cardinals luck this season.
