THE Laker thread
#271
Its been a while since we Laker fans got together for some comments and banter, but there has been so much activity in this off-season, I just had to post something.
I am extremely fired up about the Laker's off season moves. Every one of them make perfect sense and add to the team tremendously.
- Blake is sort of like a taller, more effective Farmar. Hoepfully he will be able to contribute some solid backup minutes to Fish and develop into the starting PG when Fish decides to hang' em up.
- Barnes adds some toughness and grit off the bench, and can spell Artest when he gets in foul trouble or needs a rest. Now Kobe does not have to be #2 in line to guard the Pierce/Melo/Wade/Durant type player on the opposing team unless he wants to.
- Theo Ratliffe will be able to give Bynum a rest without having to put Gasol at center. Gasol is a natural PF and when Bynum goes out, Gasol usually has to move to center. Theo will not do anything spectacular, but he will clog up the middle, not make any stupid mistakes (like Mbenga does at times) and allow Gasol to stay at his natural position when Bynum is out.
I just hope we re-sign Shannon Brown. I would hate to see him go. He has spectacular athletic ability, but more importantly, he does not turn the ball over and has shown himself to be a very good 3-point shooter at times.
I couldn't give two sh!ts about Farmar leaving. He never has and never will develop into the player we all hoped we would. He gave us some inconsistent (but good at times) years. I wish him the best.

Couldn't of said it better E! I am a die hard NFL guy and can't wait till pre-season gets into full motion, but with that said the 2011 NBA season is going to be one of the best we have seen in the past 20 years!

Eric - This season is going to be AWESOME! F LeEgo and those other clowns, LA will still be the team to beat. Agree 100% on your personnel observations. I wouldn't mind getting another top-notch scorer on-board to relieve some of the pressure on Kobe, but as he's demonstrated time and again, he can handle the pressure...

I think most Laker fans will agree with me, nothing more than we would like than to see y'all in the finals again next year! Would love to see the Heat not make it to the finals, would be even better than beating them!

I would LOVE to see the Heat not make it to the finals too, but sad to say I dout the Celtics will make it either next year.
