I know next to nothing about soccer. But this seemed pretty cool for U.S. fans.
So we don't totally suck after all?

Schwabe is right, this definately isnt the heralding of the next World Soccer powerhouse, but it's a big day for US soccer fans.
Spain is widely considered the best team on the planet at the moment, and for the US to go out there and actually outplay them on the day is a big deal.
It's not like the US squeeked a goal then set up camp to defend the whole game, they actually controled the play, took their chances and then defended like crazy when they had to.

The problem with the US is consistency. They have a lot of talent, not the best coaching from youth, and generally have the best fitness. What they have a hard time doing is stringing successes together. Of course, this is why England always chokes, too.
