For all of Phil's prowess on the greens, he misses an inordinate amount of short putts IMO when the pressure's on. It almost seems like he's more comfortable over the 30 or 40 footers that have 6 feet of break rather than the 3-4 footers that are playing a ball or two outside.
Phil sucks as a clutch putter, esp. when compared to Tiger.

As smooth as Lefty's putting stroke is, he is just not as consistent with the short to medium range putts as Tiger for instance. Then again, I don't think we've ever seen as good of a pressure putter as Tiger ESPECIALLY in the <6 foot range...the man's usually a machine.

It's arguable whether Eldrick is the greatest putter ever.
However, I don't think you'd get much argument that Tiger is the greatest "clutch" putter ever. Seems like whenever it's a "you better make this putt or the tourney's over and you go home as the runner up", he makes it no matter what the distance and difficulty.
When Mickelson holed the putt to win his first major, he looked more surprised and relieved than anything else. Tiger celebrates those like he damn well knew the ball was going in.
