Official: Tottenham Re-Sign Robbie Keane From Liverpool
Robbie Keane has re-signed for Tottenham Hotspur from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee.
He has signed a contract of unknown length at White Hart Lane, just six months after having signed for Liverpool, the club he has supported since he was a boy.
The player himself told the official Spurs website, "It was a difficult decision to make to leave Tottenham in the summer. It proved not to be the right move for me.
"I know some Spurs fans will feel I let them down by leaving but I can assure them I shall be giving my all for this Club - this Club has terrific fans and I want to repay them for all their support. We've got to get on and fight our way up that league table."
The Irish international has struggled throughout his brief spell at Anfield, often not played in his preferred position and eventually found himself being left out of the team altogether. He was never able to hit the kind of form that saw him rise to such prominence at Spurs that he commanded an incredible £20 million fee from Liverpool in the summer.
The deal was controversial at the time and upset many Lilywhites fans in north London, but new manager Harry Redknapp, who has already brought back to the club this month fellow summer exilees Jermain Defoe and Pascal Chimbonda, has now capped his January dealings with the re-signing of the former club vice-captain.
Chairman Daniel Levy added, "We never wanted Robbie to leave in the summer, we acknowledged the six years dedicated service he gave this Club and reluctantly let him go.
"I am delighted that he has chosen to return to us. We can all recall the passion and fight he displayed during his previous seasons with us. I know he is determined to give us his full commitment."

Benitez is an ass. Keane was never his signing and instead of dealing with the situation and trying to get something good out of it, he refuses to play him and takes him off during games that he is playing well in.....way to give the guy some confidence.
