Andrei Arshavin Should Join Arsenal Tomorrow - Premier League
Sky Sports News has reported in the last few minutes that the Premier League have informed Arsenal that the paperwork that will finally make Andrei Arshavin an Arsenal player will be completed tomorrow, finally bringing the seemingly interminable saga to an end.
The paperwork for the player's move is reporedly in the hands of the Premier League, who will now appreantly tick all the necessary boxes for the Russian superstar to finally complete his move to London.
It had been announced by a Zenit spokesman earlier that the deal had stalled due to the clubs failing to reach an agreement. A reported stumbling block had been the Russian outfit's demand for a percentage of the player's signing on fee to be paid to them.
However, Arsene Wenger, a man whose impatience with the very idea of a 'transfer window' has been clearly discernible over the last few weeks, was optimistic when talking to Sky earlier, and had confirmed that he expected to make a positive announcement later on this evening.
It now looks as though that announcement will have to wait, as the final technicalities of what increasingly looks a done deal are ironed out.
Sky Sports have speculated that the player will be handed the no 13 shirt left vacant by departed Belarusian Aliaksandr Hleb. However, Goal.com understands that Arshavin will instead be given the no 23 jersey.
As soon as the move is, all being well, at last confirmed tomorrow, Goal.com will bring you all the news...
