Valencia Will Consider Offers For David Villa, If Huge - Report

Spanish club Valencia have admitted that they may have to consider selling their star players due to their poor state of finances, according to a report in the British broadsheet the Independent.

"Whatever offer comes in we will have to study it although the idea is not to have to sell David Villa or David Silva," stated Fernando Gomez Colomer, the club's sporting vice-president.

He continued: "It would have to be an exorbitant offer."

That news could alert Premier League money-men Manchester City who are more than capable of tabling the kind of bid that might be needed to land David Villa.

The Citizens have been linked with the Spanish international striker since their Abu Dhabi owners arrived in August and announced their intentions to establish the club as a top European force with the spectacular capture of Robinho.

While Los Che have fought to keep their prized asset, club president Vicente Soriano admitted: "We will fight to give the club the economic stability that it needs. Right now that is the most important thing - more than any kind of sporting success."
