That would be advisable. His replacement - Domenik Hixson - looked great today and could be a nice addition to your playoff roster. If he is available in your league you should pick him up immediately.

I am a big Giants fan, and think his performance on the field over the last few years has been tremendous, but he has got to go. Coughlin got this team where it is today (best team in the NFL) by getting rid of all the selfish players and all of the guys that drew attention away from the task at hand. He now has a team full of real team players... except Plaxico. Expect that to change. I don't expect to ever see him on the field as a Giant again, and the Giants will be the better for it.

(yes, I am dropping him from my fantasy team, too)

Told you so

having a loaded gun in public when your not licensed to should be more serious than having dogs tortured in private.

I hope he goes to jail, he's cancer for his team and the league.

He could have simply not gone to a place were you would need a gun or he could have simply hired some bodyguards.

He didn't shoot himself because he had a Glock, he shot himself because he didn't know how to handle a fire arm. You shouldn't fumble around with any type of gun.

There's zero reason for a highly paid pro athlete to ever have to carry a piece or drive a car while intoxicated. If you're going out on the town and want to "live large" or "make it rain", roll with a bodyguard or three and hire a town car/limo/bulletproof Hummer for the night. You're not inconspicuous (esp. when you're a 6'5" black male), so you might as well be safer than sorry. He had 35 million reasons not to get caught up in any legal stupidity. Knucklehead.......

And the misery for Burress continues . . .

Plaxico Burress - WR - New York Giants - Dec 2 2008 6:03PM est
News: Giants placed Plaxico Burress on the non-football injury list, ending his season.
Impact: This takes Burress off the roster and allows the Giants to forgo payment to him for the rest of the season. The Giants gave him the news face-to-face Tuesday and it's quite likely Burress never plays another snap for New York. The Giants offense will miss Burress, but Domenik Hixon has proven to be a more than capable backup.
