Singer & Cosworth Team up for the Third Singer 911
#132
Back when I was still reading Excellence, a favorite artist of mine, Rob Dickinson of Catherine Wheel, was profiled in his "retro'' modded Porsche, I've since thrown out all my back issues but I believe it was from 08 or 09 making his one of the very first if not the first Singer Porsche. At the time I was building my 930 but wanted this car more!
Only pic I could find in a quick search...the obvious updates since this car are the lights and long nose hood with tie downs.

Actually, this is Rob's own '69 911 that served as the inspiration for the Singer. I used to work for the shop that built the car for him, TRE Motorsports in Van Nuys, CA. The first singer, which bears a very similar paintjob is actually an '88 or '89 911 Carrera (started out life as a gray on black sunroof coupe). Rob still has his '69 and you can catch him driving it on Mulholland on the weekend.
Here's a picture I took of the car before RGruppe in February of last year.

Any dyno sheets showing the claimed power output of these N/A engines with those velocity stacks with and without the screen filters....?

ronin,
You've made your point about the Singer 911 and to most it is an irrelevant one. I feel that you don't get the cool factor of these cars and that is perfectly fine, its not what you are into. I fervently disagree with your stance on 'old cars', but that is neither here nor there. Please stop posting in this thread in the manner you have been. Many of us frequent TSers are extremely sarcastic, but there is no reason for this thread to be closed b/c of your posts and the responses to them (my post included in this as well).

No need for a comeback unless you know the dyno specs with and without the stack screens..

I am asking a legitimate question with regards to the Springer engine, is this too controversial ?..... No bashing from me just asking a simple question about the engine build....
