A 915 box is equal to a G50 if kept in good condition, personally I think the G50 is a harder wearing unit.

The 3.2 carrera is a great classic, every Porsche fan should own one once. Go for it.

Update! Alright went out and test drove her today. The car felt great mechanically sound good shifts, good synchro feel, brakes are brand new and felt great, started right up no smoke no leaks, it is mechanically sound. The paint is good except for the passenger side and front passenger QP. I intend on doing a repaint anyways so not a big deal. I love it! It's like an old friend and a great little car. If I do pull the trigger I'll post some more pics especially for the resto.

Hey 997carrera, I hope you do end up buying it, these cars have so much soul that the newer cars seem to lack.

Thanks for making this thread, as I've been looking at a mid 80's 911 myself and this certainly makes me feel even better about purchasing it.

Thanks! I took the wife out today to look at it again, and to drive it again! lol I am going to have my mechanic take a look at it next week and shoot the guy an offer. So far the thing feels great, I will see what the guys say next week when they check her out. Stay tuned!
