Ideas for first beginner Go kart?

I have been looking around the net trying to find some good beginner karts for around $2K i have found a few good ones but was wondering, what karts did you guys (kart drivers) start out with.
i have been looking to get into kart racing for a while but not sure what to get. All help is appreciated, thanks.
