That may be the case. But people assume that Brawn did everything on a shoestring and last minute, which obviously wasn't the case.

I love road racing of all kinds except kart.
F1 cars are amazing don't get me wrong but........
All these guys like Dana who watch it all of the time understand the drivers and their strengths. In turn they can choose most likely who will win and where, qualifying no different. These guys are good. Almost too good.
Throw a bunch of touring cars on a track and watch the carnage happen. From vW's to 911's it's all exciting.
That's my thought on motorsport on pavement. I'd much rather watch rally over all of it honestly

As everything becomes more standardized the racing becomes less interesting. It is hard to argue against standardization of the cars, but when it comes down to it almost every rule the FIA implements makes racing just a bit less interesting to watch. WRC has suffered a similar fate IMO.
