Webber is going to stay through 2012. Ricciardo has done nothing to secure that 2nd seat in RBR.

Yeah no chance Ricciardo will get a RBR drive next year, however, if he continues to out pace Liuzzi then he is almost guaranteed a drive for Toro Rosso for 2012.

The mandatory shutdown is for 2 of the 3 week break. They have one week of development, and I'm sure the top teams have sent their engineers on vacation with homework

They changed it, he is correct, two week shutdown.

Last year they did a one week shut down.

Exactly. There is no chance in hell that the teams are in complete shutdown mode. I would also presume that the engineers are doing small development things in their break on the computer simulations.
