Hamilton Slates "Joke" Stewarding [Monaco Spoilers]

Lewis is just a human being.. He loves what he does and gets very emotional about it. So what? Some people don't want to constantly see boring dreary drivers all the time. F1 would be a much lesser place without him. Lewis all the way!

My man!!

Exactly because he is dreamy! He seems like I good guy. I am not anti HAM, he is my favorite in f1, but B just seems like a Down to earth person. So he may not have the mentality that he wants to kill everyone in front of him- he was still on the podium on Sunday.

That's a good point. b drives very well but has the attitude that he is happy with his accomplishments and that any more are a bonus. HAM is hungry at every race, every turn,'just like anyone who has been the greats in their respective sport.

Even while Button was in the midst of his championship season in 2009, he seemed surprised by his own success.
Like I always say, when you stand in the winner's circle, at least pretend like you belong there.

[QUOTE=Barrister;978234]It sounds like you are describing Michael Schumacher. He used up his tires trying to pass and repass and even t-boned folks who he couldn't pass. There was a day when men raced in F1 and it was acceptable to be aggressive.
The McLaren chassis is no match for Adrian Newey's masterpiece. But Hamilton was challenging for world championships when Vettel was a nonfactor with BMW and Torro Rosso.
Actually they (Schumi & Hambone) are very similar these days, a tremendous amount of insular arrogance; frustrated that they aren't upfront and expect everyone to move out of their way so they may challenge for the win.
"The McLaren chassis is not match for Newey's masterpiece"....do you think the Toro Rosso was a match for Hamilton's McLaren . If Vettel had a top-tier car from day one he would have been in the hunt then too.
I realize this whole argument is rhetorical with you anyway...about time to post that photo of you and Hambone again, isn't it ?
Bill

I agree with Hamilton on the joke stewarding.
In the Massa incident, Massa clearly turned into him. In the Maldonado incident, Maldonado braked early. Shit happens when you're racing - especially in Monaco. Any overtaking move in the principality is dangerous. If Hamilton didn't try, then the whole race would be a parade, or alternatively put a charade.
The qualifying was also a joke. They ended up with the cars in an order which had nothing to do with speed.
The best bit of driving was Hamilton's move on Schumacher. The race would have been so much more exciting if Hamilton had been in Button's position chasing down the leaders at the end. As it happened, that piece was a tease - promising an exciting ending but in fact just a follow the leader exercise.
And Massa's criticism is just ridiculous - he basically wants Hamilton to not race. Massa is a totally second rate driver who's only got a seat at Ferrari because Alonso doesn't like competition. Nobody takes his opinion seriously.

Hamilton whines when people don't let him race. Alonso and Vettel whine when people don't pull over to let them past. The latter are the ones you should complain about!

Actually the FIA didn't change the rules to prevent chassis technology sharing until after Vettel's last season with Toro Rosso. So when he won his first race, his Toro Rosso was basically a Red Bull with a Ferrari engine. That's why the Toro Rosso's regularly beat the Red Bull's that year. The following year Toro Rosso was required to have a completely independent chassis and their performance collapsed.
