LOL this will really be a curve ball to a lot of people.

Anyways I wanted to share this with all of you. Right now the 2nd Barcelona World Race is been raced and well it is a real world race, literally. It is a 2 man journey in a IMOCA 60 monohull sailboat and the point is to race non-stop around the world and takes them about 3 months and about 25,000 miles, take that WRC and Dakar LOL.

All of these guys have my massive respect since they took off on the 31st of Dic and will not see there families in about 90 days while they pray everything go according to plans.

Wohooooo finally someone liked it.

At the moment one of the Boats broke the mast and they are out ( President) and one of the front runners ( Foncia ) had its protective front bumper torn off when they collided with some random floating thing, so the haul is intact but they will stop in Brazil soon to get that fixed just in case.

Amazing, I had never heard of it and I lived in Barcelona for a short time. Does it happen every year? I couldn't even imagine having the balls to do this especially with just a two person crew. For some reason I think I'd feel better about it with a few more people on board.

 

^ this particular race is done every 4 years and this is the second time it is raced. But most of these boats run on another world race that they have to re-modify a bit for a solo.... yes 1 person LOL.... world race that is raced every 4 years but in actual calendar they are spaced 2 years from each other.

Also there is another world Solo race going on on the moment they are 29 days deep in to the journey called the Velux 5 Oceans
