HG Motorsports 2012 Evo X MR Time Attack/ NASA Time Trial Race Car Build Thread
We wanted to share a build that is taking place in our shop as a Limited Class Time Attack/Time Trial Race Car based off of a 2012 Evo X MR. This vehicle started out as a street car for a client, and was taken to the track several times for HPDE Track Events. Now the car is being converted into a complete race car to compete in Time Attack & NASA Time Trial Series.
We are shooting for a target weight of 2,900lbs and to make around 500whp & 500tq.

***UPDATE***
Once the car was stripped we were ready to get started with the roll cage. Our client wanted the safest cage possible which would give him eligibility to race in any series he chooses. For this reason, we decided to build him a SCCA Class 2 Spec Cage.
All of the fabrication was performed in house at HG Motorsports. The material used was 1 3/4" 120 Wall DOM. Lastly, everything has been tig welded minus the seems due to not acid dipping the chassis.
