To be quite honest I didn't know what time frame the Korea track had. But, I see your point with the hurdles. It just seems like a reasonable amount of time for completion, but what do I know about building tracks? Zilch.

As you well know Randy, the U.S. has crazy administrative hurdles to overcome when starting a project like this. Also, the project can't afford to run labor 24-hours a day like some other countries often do.

The fact that they only got "provisional" approval to break ground just 2-weeks ago indicates that they are nowhere near ready to start full-fledged construction.

It will be very tight.

Where there's a will there's a way.......Let's hope it proves to be the case in this matter.

I'm looking forward to it no matter what. I'll help with the beers as well Alex!

Tell that to the Texas labor unions.

In that case, I guess a false hope is better than no hope at all

I hope they pull it off so the U.S. will have some sort of presence in F1. I feel that we've been looked down upon even more since the whole USF1 deal

I might attend this if they are able to pull it off. Does anybody know the average price for the tickets?

^^ Currently F1 only sells tickets as a three-day package.

In other words, you can no longer buy just a ticket for the race - you must buy tickets for all of the events (practices and qualifying).

My tickets to the Canadian Grand Prix in 2010 ran me about $420 a person.

That is for Silver Grandstand tickets.

This year it ran me $445 a person for similar seats. Friday is $60, Saturday is $110 and Sunday is $260.

I would expect Austin to be pretty similar.
