2011 Formula 1 Off-Season Discussion Thread

Leave it to Ferrari to field an American team...
#42
hell yeah, that would be excellent marketing on their part and having a team like Penske or Ganassi running it will no doubt make it a competitive team. I have no doubt that those teams would find the right driver.

So Ganassi or Penske runs a third Ferrari for the 2012 season - and then go straight into bankruptcy for the start of the 2013 season and Montezemolo buys a bunch of gear on the cheap!

This was said in one of the USF1 threads.
Penske could field a US based F1 team.

But with the resources Penske has and the knowledge. He could pull it off. It couldn't happen in a year. Maybe over the course of three years they could do enough development and research to make a sensible entry into F1.
#48
I agree completely about Penske. I wish they would come into F1. They should buy out HRT since it's for sale.
#49
HRT isn't for sale, the driver's spots are though!

^ Unless this is a little out-dated.
Hispania put up for sale - F1technical.net
But yes, those driver spots are always up for sale
