it'll happen, the manufacturers are particularly keen on the idea. it matches their product more precisely, especially considering it is luring new (and old as in honda/toyota) manufacturers into the fold as teams and/or engine suppliers.

Well we all know the sound of F1 will not be the same with these new engines. I read somewhere they are keeping the rev limit around 10k.

ya but the sounds of the turbos will make up for it, the V10's were glorious...V8's didn't really impress as much.

I just hate the idea of dumbing down the engines.

i don't think its dumbing down necessarily, just moving in a different direction. im also interested to see what turbo related innovations result from this new era.
