Ferrari may take legal action against FIA
From PlanetF1:
Should Ferrari be stripped of the points they scored at this year's German Grand Prix they would be prepared to file a civil action law suit against the FIA, according to reports in the Italian press.
Ferrari will go before the World Motor Sport Council on the 8th of September to face a disciplinary hearing, having been found guilty by stewards at the German GP of breaching article 39.1 of the FIA 2010 sporting regulations that states 'team orders which interfere with a race result are prohibited.'
The team were fined $100,000 by the stewards for implementing what they believed to be team orders, but the Scuderia could now face further punishment when they come up against the WMC.
Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that should Ferrari be docked points they will take legal action.
This contradicts a statement released recently by Ferrari that said: "In this sort of situation, the best policy is to respect and to trust in the highest level of the sport's governing body."
Many have given their opinion on the matter, with former FIA chief Max Mosely the latest to do so, with the Briton insisting that a financial penalty is not the best course of action.
"Both cars and both drivers should lose the points they achieved in the German Grand Prix," Mosley told Welt Am Sonntag.
"I will not make any recommendation, but on the facts at the moment there should have been some sporting sanction and not only a fine," he added.
