Manor GP becomes Virgin Racing
Formula One news: Manor GP becomes Virgin Racing - GPUpdate.net Formula One
Following much speculation, it is now official that the Sheffield-based Manor GP team will race under the label Virgin Racing as it makes its Formula 1 debut in 2010. Having sponsored Brawn this year, the revealing of Richard Branson's involvement with Manor came via the official FIA entry list.
With Virgin having first entered F1 as a sponsor of Takuma Sato earlier in the decade, the world-famous name made its marque this season by, not only sponsoring Brawn GP, but being one of the principal partners of the team which made history by winning its first race and clinching both championship titles.
Confirmed previously as a driver for the squad headed by John Booth, Timo Glock will make the switch from the departed Toyota. His team-mate is yet to be revealed, with a selection of names all being possibilities.

It's all about cost/ reward.
Brawn's sponsorship deal would have been horrendous money. Manor will get his name on the Teams garage for a fraction of the price, and whilst the exposure won't obviously be as large as it would with Brawn, it is still going to be up there.
