Loeb to join GP2 test at Jerez
GP2 news: Loeb to join GP2 test at Jerez - GPUpdate.net GP2
Multiple World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb will be joining the official GP2 test in Spain at the start of next month, it has been confirmed. The French Citroën driver will run for David Price Racing at Jerez with a possible race on the cards in Abu Dhabi in just over a month's time.
Having tested a Formula One car with Red Bull Racing last year, Loeb will now drive a GP2 machine for the first time as the official session test gets underway at Jerez from Tuesday 6 to Thursday 8 October.
"One of the engineers I met during my participation in the Porsche Carrera Cup at Nogaro suggested that I drive in this GP2 test," Loeb - WRC Champion of 2004-2008 - commented. "He knows that I love driving challenges and told me that there was a place available in the DPR team."
It makes for a busy schedule for Sébastien, who will be testing his C4 rally car in England the day before. He is also believed to be keeping options open should a one-off Formula One drive become a possibility between rallies next year.
