USF1 Humbled By 2010 Formula 1 Entry

Amidst all the bullcrap going on, we almost forgot about this!

Good news indeed. But how successful will the team be?

Vote in the poll!

I think they will be more humbled when the season begins. What ever happened to America's F1 hero Scott Speed? Any Scott Speed fans on the boards? Bishop said he has taken a look at some "American youngsters." I wonder how old Speed is. Speed is such a classy guy: every time he would DNF and, ironically, Bishop caught him peeling down the overalls on the way to the locker room he would just dog on his pit manager and manufacturer.

I think this is awesome. Al - You should be firing off resumes if you haven't already.

I will miss his pre-race grid interviews though. I wonder who that will fall to?

This is fantastic news! I really hope they last a lot longer than 10 years even though I'm very skeptical that that will be the case. F1 is a very cut-throat series and if you don't have a strong will, thick skin, and an absolute boatload of $$$ to blow, you'll get chewed up and spit out before you even know what happened. Windsor has been around long enough to know this though and with his experience and respect in the sport, I'm sure he'll be fine if he can find the right drivers and build a solid car. You'd be a fool to expect results similar to Brawn in the first year but hopefully US F1 will be competitive within 1 or 2 seasons.

Now Fox is going to want a license on F1 so all the races appear at 10 PST--several hours after they are over. That would suck. But this bodes well for getting a GP back in the US. Fingers crossed.
