I like the increase to 26 drivers. The incumbent teams will all make it in there too, watch. Note how Brawn does not list a constructor--this year they have been running a Mercedez kit. McLaren Mercedez is supplying two teams this year, under an exception made by the FIA to save the constructor formerly known as Honda. Does anyone want to speculate with me as to whether Mercedez or Ferrari (note that STR has no constructor either) will give Brawn their goods next year if either of those teams compete?

I actually think it's crap that there is a cap on how many teams can compete. It's a enough of a challenge to fork over the cash to make it to the big leagues as it is, so making it all one big beauty pageant to see who can play is just redundant, imo.

Erich brings up a good point about what these smaller teams will do if their engine suppliers cut and run. Brawn is pretty much safe because Mercedes was planning to sponsor them next year regardless of whether McLaren was competing or not but it's tough to say what Force India, STR, RBR, will do if their engine manufacturers leave or cut back on who gets what. Then again, Cosworth is the official "spec" engine manufacturer so maybe we'll be seeing a lot more teams running the Cossie engine next year?
