Can anyone share a bit of history when new outfits joined the grid in F1's past? I'd like to use that as a benchmark but I remember most new teams being started by former drivers which made notoriety/name recognition no issue.
Lately, teams have been morphing into different teams rather than being totally new to the grid. For example, Jordan became Spyker which became Force India. The infrastructure and relationships were already in place - just a new owner and a new name. I can't remember the last time a totally new team came into F1.
