Evidently tired of running races all by their lonesome, Corvette Racing has decided to dip into the American Le Mans GT2 for next year. Citing zero competition, the team says they’ll compete in a select few 2009 GT1 competitions to get ready for next year’s Le Mans, then drop back into GT2 for the remainder of the season to mix it up with the likes of Aston Martin, Porsche, Ferrari and Ford. The teams says that a 5.5-liter V8 version of the LS7 is being developed to comply with new regulations to take effect in 2010
