All great suggestions above. I too have the Trinity and they are all superb. I lugged the 24-70 and 14-24 around on two different bodies on a 14 day trip to Greece and Italy. Painful.

I also just picked up the 18-300VR for travel with my D700 and/or D3S. For lightweight travel, I use my D300 with the 18-200VR. Best carry case I've found for Travel is the ThinkTank Roller. Looks just like a standard roller suitcase that goes in airplane overheads. Holds two bodies and at least 4 lenses as well as flash heads. For walking around I use Tamrac bags in a variety of sizes. I also just purchased the Cotton Carrier Harness. Not real fashionable, but very practical when walking around.

In my experience there are very few Nikon advanced/pro lenses that I would avoid buying They almost all give great results. Some of my older favorites at very reasonable prices.

50mm /f1.8, great indoor lens for Cruises, parties, etc.
35mm f2 gives you the equivalent of the 50 1.8 on a DX camera
60 or 105mm Macro
85mm 1.8 Great Portrait lens

Hope you have fun with your recent purchases. Post some shots.
