So, I have been given the camera ultimatum and must buy the DSLR. Yes, I have procrastinated this long since the last thread.

Is the Nikon D90 still the one to get? Or should I get the D5000?

Money is not really an issue, I just need a good camara that won't be replaced next month or two with a newer model update.

Thanks so much.

D90 of those two definitely. Don't scrimp on glass and you won't be disappointed.

I still have a D70s that I play with, am teaching my daughter to shoot with, etc. and have no complaints. It's a solid family of camera bodies for sure.

I read up on it, the D5000 is sort of like a dumb down version of D90, interesting market research results Nikon must have.
