Late Afternoon Photo Session

Last week, after I gave my car a nice wash and wax, I decided to pack some of my gear and head out for a quick little photo session.

I didn't really have any set locations in mind, so I just picked a road and followed it hoping to find something I liked. I think I did fairly well with my selections, at least in my opinion.

I'm not going to lie, automotive photography is still an area that I haven't accumulated a lot of experience in, and I mostly do it strictly for personal enjoyment. I still wanted to share the photos I took though, so enough with my rambling, and on to the good stuff.

(I know that a lot of these show a very repetitive angle, but I was unable to choose which photos I liked most.)

These first two shots were actually taken in my garage.

This series was taken on a newly constructed road that doesn't lead anywhere at the moment, but will eventually connect with some pre-existing and future industrial complexes.

These were taken in one of the parking lots of an unleased building in one of the complexes.

This series is at an obviously abandoned car-wash.

Tyler, you did an awesome job! I think your pics always turn out the best when you're having fun and even if you don't think you're the best now, stick with it and you'll get even better. I love the editing you did to these. The muted colors really work well with these kind of "throwback" shots, especially given your Bullitt. I'd have to say, the first two are my favorites.

Thank you for the comments, guys! I greatly appreciate the feedback.

I do have a lot of fun taking the pictures, but even though it isn't for a client, the pressure to do well is still there. I'm used to excelling in just about any form of photography, but automotive, I don't feel like I'm taking to it as quickly as I should be. I know I'll eventually get the hang of it, I'm just very impatient! lol

If anyone here in the Austin/San Antonio area wants to be a test subject, let me know!

Hyper critical are we?

Maybe Ray Allen shouldn't have been so far away on some of those jumpers.
