I kinda feel the same way about HDR if its done right its cool/o.k, but way to may people are taking crappy pictures running them through filters and calling it art.
It will be funny though in 20 years someone will bring back the fad of HDR and will be a huge sucess for being traditional and using old school phot techniques lol
