Saw the new S4 on the street

Sorry, no pics (I was out getting some Iceberry w/Pure Evo and our wives)...

First impression: Since I'm a big Audi fan, I spotted it immediately, but it looks just like an A4 with silver mirrors and a VERY tall "wing" formed from the trunk lid. This was in black, so I couldn't see the curves (if there are any), but the new RS4 better be mighty impressive given how subdued the S4 looks.

Do I like it? Yes - I love just about every new Audi. Would I take one over an S5 (or even my last RS4)? Not a chance.

well I guess that`s what they wanted to achieve.

looks like a regular A4 but performs way better....undercover athlete

ot : I saw the new S5 convertible a few times lately...now that`s a sweet car!

I was reading CAR Magazine's long-term intro to the new S4 and they weren't too impressed. Obviously the interior is updated but they liked the old V8 better (esp. since the new supercharged V6 doesn't have the great MPG promised).

Given how great the S5 looks, I'd get that. Better yet, I'm waiting for the next RS4 or RS5 (hopefully in a couple years when all my cars are paid off).

The two-tone seats in the new S4 are beautiful.

Don't get me wrong - it looked great. Audi always does the details right (except, perpexingly, with the R8). I'd own one, but not over an S5 (though definitely over a 335i).

I agree, the S5 is one of the best looking cars that Audi has produced in years... The S4, to me... Was at its highest point with the B5 generation. TT V6 goodness. Plus, it was available in the states as an Avant.

I think it's a good looking car; but most importantly, they got the price right this time around

I wonder how the S5 will perform with the V6 in it

I agree on the pricing -- better off putting it in 335i territory.

I think the S5 will be about the same on paper with the V6 T. But, it won't have that V8 sound . . .
