How about just a reguala a6 avant ? I am currently looking for a winter car and I just dont like any SUV I have looked at. Would be happy to just take a regular a6 avant or 535xi wagon if you could get them. Certainly would prefer an s6 or rs4 avant but the fact that audi and bmw are not bringing any mid size wagons here stinks...

First, a wagon flies under the radar. Second, that huge load bay is very handy. Third, it's not the conventional choice.

Fourth, wagons are the sporty choice, weather they are sporty or not. The Jetta is a dull car. The Golf is hot. Any Volvo sedans aren't all that great, but the wagons are just fantastic. And the A4 is cool, but there is no comparison to the Avant.
I really can't put my finger on it, but wagons are 10X better in every imaginable aspect.

Audi USA president (or some exec) said that he knows the hardcore enthusiasts want them and they want to provide them, but in order to sell them they have to sacrifice a number of them in crash testing and whatnot. Their marketing suggests they can't sell enough of them to break even. (thanks for sticking your nose into EVERY nook and cranny you can find Uncle Sam)
