Post 2010 Audi RS5 to get 4.2L V8 from RS4, Cabriolet RS5 in the works


The next-generation Audi RS4 is rumored to be get the same supercharged 3.0 TFSI V6 from the 2010 S4 but will be messed around with a bit to produce 400-hp. So what happens to that beefy naturally aspirated 4.2L V8? According to CAR, that engine will find its way under the hood of the upcoming Audi RS5 and will be twin-turbocharged to produce a total 450-hp with a peak torque of 332 lb-ft. That will allow a 0 to 62 time in the low 4.-something seconds.

I knew it would get the 4.2! Tuners are going to go ape sh!t with this thing.

And you know Audi will dick around, I also predict a sticker of $85-90K.

So Sick I was sooo hoping they would throw the Twin Turbo Setup on that Car!! Just Exhaust, and Tune away from 500HP!!

332 lb ft from a V8TT? not a chance

this car will be NA then.

Agreed, personally I'd rather it be naturally aspirated like the RS4. I love how rev happy that motor is.

And Audi will once again price the car at 70K.

If they want to compete with the M3 market, they need to lower their prices.

I mean, my S4 Avant 6 speed MSRP was something absurd like 58K!

S5 is seriously under powered. RS5 should take care of that.

But, what are they going to do about the interior? S5 leaves much to be desired when compared the the M6 and the like.
