- Oh well.... I might just pick up a 08 RS4 with the way the prices are going - I could get one at half of the original MSRP right now.

Hold on here...

If I read this stuff correctly, the RS5 is getting a TT'd version of the last-gen RS4 4.2 liter V8. But it will have "only" (disappointing w/ TT's) 450 hp???

That's what I would have thought - a breathed on RS4 engine to get to those specs, but (from the OP):

"So what happens to that beefy naturally aspirated 4.2L V8? According to CAR, that engine will find its way under the hood of the upcoming Audi RS5 and will be twin-turbocharged to produce a total 450-hp with a peak torque of 332 lb-ft."

???

No matter what engine it will have (450bhp is nothing to complain about), it's a beautiful car. I'd LOVE to have one!

Obviously there is still much that is unknown about the upcoming RS5. If the car is boasting a a TT 4.2 V8, it will make significantly more HP/TQ that quoted.

Something tells me that with the N/A RS4 engine, 450hp was about all they could reliably get out of it. I see some supercharger kits in the future for this car.
