Ricers or not...if they were parked there legally, just hanging out they should not of been "ambushed" like that.

Sucks and sucks bad....but it is an easy way for a city to make money. A VERY EASY WAY.

Being glad that "just the ricers" was busted is like when Europe said "oh, it's just the Jews" that the Nazis f'ed with. How long before they go after other car enthusiasts?

The ONLY saving grace of "non-ricers" is that most of us could bring some legal horsepower (i.e. good lawyers) if the cops pulled this crap on us. My point is we should back those kids (and non-kids - I had an Evo in my 30s) and make sure this selective enforcement crap ceases. If I had been there, I would have asked for warrants or told them to piss off. People need to know their rights.

i completely agree Chris - i'm no lawyer but i'm guessing no one has ever challenged their notion of "probable cause" in a court of law.

if a legal aftermarket exhaust is on the car, and the hood is shut, there's no probable cause. if there is a gauage pillar, is that probable cause for engine modifications? i'm sure the cops would argue yes; but, in a court of law, with the right lawyer, i can't imagine how that would be so.

- chuck

I am sure sure I would not have used the Nazi analogy bu,t I do get your point, and I think it wont take them long to branch out into the higher end cars from the Euro market to reel into there web of revenue generation.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about using it, but it seemed the most similar in the apathetic response from those not affected (yet).

not only this. Just these past two weeks, we've had 5 customers get tickets for window tint @ 35%. All of them had it removed and upgraded to the lighter ceramics. Just be careful out there guys.

I was thinking when I redo my front tints to go to 35%. Right now they are at 50%...now I may just redo with the 50%
