Wow. Man that looks great! Might seem like a stupid question but, how is it like riding around in montreal on a bike like this? I mean with the most of the roads being in poor condition and bad drivers, I'm guessing you are tracking it mostly? Reason I'm asking is I am debating whether or not I should get my bike license once I'm done with college and can afford something acceptable. Must be such a rush to ride though and a good chick magnet.

Don't let anything detract you from getting your license and giving it a shot. If you're smart about it, it's not as dangerous as some make it sound.
I can't explain why riding is so great, once you try it you'll know.

City sucks no matter how you put it. Lots of people, lots of intersections, without a doubt the most dangerous place to ride.
It sucked on the Z1k, it sucks even more on the 1098. I walk to work, so I can take the bike only to get the hell out as fast as possible, and hit nice quiet backroads.
Haven't tracked it (have only done 100mi before winter kicked in), but will try to over the summer. Would be a shame not to, that's what it was built for.

I won't bet so much on it being a chick magnet. Maybe because I'm in the city, but many hippes who do not give a shit about bikes. Let alone understand why I ride. Maybe I'm just hopelessly fugly.

The ontario Ducati Club is meeting up in August at Grand Bend Motorspeedways new road track this summer if you're interested(bit of a drive). I ride with a couple guys who have a 748 and 749R. I much prefer the older 748 for riding around the city! Sounds meaner than most V8's! and rides so easy. I know another guy who rides a Monster but dont ride with him. Actually I dont ride anymore right now. Too into the car thing. Just wanted to share.

Looks awesome! The wheels are great. If I didn't have a dude run a red light and fricking smash into him 10min after I got off the phone talking to a friend about getting a street bike, I'd still be considering it!

As for the chick magnet part, in the summer there are usually groups of street bikes who park them outside all the bars in the "entertainment district" in my part of town. Chicks get wet. Just sayin.

Must be the hippies up there!

^^ haha! That's what I heard happens too, that or they see a pic of your bike on facebook and ask you for a ride. Thanks for the info Zorro, I don't think I would enjoy riding in the city so much but on backroads it must certainly be amazing, or just going to work on a nice summer day on your bike. It all depends where you live I guess, some places more advantageous for riding than others. Do you know if they accept bikes on the mont-tremblant circuit?

Ya, I might have jumped the gun on that one. Posted a pic of the bike yesterday on my FB ... yeah. It works.

Sam, they do accept bikes at Tremblant, I can't remember the exact name but it's a private club with 3k entry fee. But they're open track days, you can ride all day long if you want to (unlike limited sessions, usually). It's a damn nice track, I'd love to ride it without coughing up 3k.
