Ducati Diavel in Diamond Black

That monstrosity is a disgrace to Ducati's decades of sporting credentials or innovation.
A heavy useless chunk of plastic that brings nothing new, only to lure HD owners into a false sense of exotica for their sunday trip to Starbucks.
And it'll sell like hotcakes, because it's all a perfect corporate marketing product.

Right?
Breath Zorro, it'll be okay. Here, star at this:

There are many different realms of motorcycling. Many of us enjoy the thrill of taking a superbike to the track and pushing the limits of grip and our own abilities. Some enjoy the utility of bike like the BMW GS, Multi, etc and like the fact that they can go camping for a weekend and carry everything they need on a motorcycle. Others just enjoy cruising the canyons or open road while taking in the experience that is motorcycling. This bike fits that bill very well. I for one, would buy a Diavel over any other cruiser. It would not replace my Aprilia, but when i'm out riding with my friends who have Harleys, i'm not having much fun on the Aprilia anyway. I refuse to pay 15k+ for the engineering dinosaurs that are HDs.

Actually, it is. When the Monster came out in the 14th century, it blew everyone's minds. It looked like no other bike out there, among the first naked bikes to have a identity of its own.
For a good laugh, check out the promo vid of the Diavel ... poor fella is hanging off the side of the damn thing in the corners and it's baaaarely turning.
The Diavel is just Ducati's marketing dept thinking "mmmh, how can we lure our owners into thinking they're not getting old? Oh that's right, let's take a headlight from a M109, put rearsets on a Harley V-Rod, and market that shit as top of the line italian exotica."
Not saying it's going to be a bad bike or that it doesn't have its place in today's market. It just screams opportunism by Ducati.
I'm breathing just fine don't worry, the Diavel is what the Cayenne is to Porsche. A mainstream outcast capitalizing on the core products of a manufacturer, despite having having absolutely nothing to do with them, regardless of what the marketing literature tries to say. I'll be fine. I just won't get close to a Diavel.

I meant different in concept. It's not much different. And frankly if that bike helps enable Ducati to be more profitable, so effing be it. You guys want a company to produce exotic kit; but don't want them producing anything for the masses to bolster profits.
might i suggest you go off on your own and open your own automaker/bike manufacturer.
Ain't gonna be an easy pill to swallow when the buyer pool is so much smaller than it was and competition is fiercer than ever.
The best news? You DON'T have to buy that bike.

If they want to appeal to the masses then build a 696ish evo, something sporty that is at least a little intermediate rider friendly. 70-80 hp and they will sell so many they cannot keep up.
The starting point for the sport bikes they make is way to high, I mean right now its what a EVO 848 as the low end. Heck the 1098 is lighter and easier to ride then that thing.
Also is the Diaval really aimed at Harley riders like me. We have the VRod and its not like that thing is flying off the shelves.

how did that BMW Harley lure work out for BMW? oh yeah they stopped making it
ducati would sell it's mother
this is an Italian v-rod built to lure Harley riders away... the gd v-rod cannot even lure Harley riders and it is a Harley
