Traffic stop?

How is this appropriate?

YouTube - Motorcycle traffic violation - Cop pulls out gun

That cop is lucky he didn't get shot.

Can off-duty cops (like I assume the officer who drew his weapon was) pull people over? He wasn't driving a police vehicle and was wearing civilian clothes. He never flashed a badge, just pulled a gun. I wouldn't have figured him for an officer and sped off if he tried to pull me over.

At the end of the video you see a state trooper getting out of his car behind the motorcycle. Who knows what the whole story is. Either way, not cool having a gun drawn for a traffic stop like this.

My take on it is he was probably running from the guy. It's truly hard to criticize any cop without knowing the whole story.

What if this guy ( we've all seen it ) was driving like an idiot for a couple miles while being chased by these 2 cops? Now you guys would see it differently I bet.

I'm never one for guns but I've seen way too many idiots in cars and bikes to assume the cop wasn't warranted.

Ok rant off.....

He said it himself. I didn't read all 11 pages on that blog but he said he accelarated and passed a plan clothes cop. (THEN) slowed down to 80-85. He had to have been 100 plus. Getting a small ticket he's lucky imho.

Apparently 5 years for having a camera recording, not for whatever traffic violation he committed. That's *ucked up.
