Ahhhh... I see. Have you ridden the 1098?

I've ridden the 1098S and I loved it.

Just realized that Ducati went back to older shape headlights...I sort of liked the ones on the 999 as they were different....

I liked that design as well. I had a 749R and it is part of the reason why I want to go back to a Ducati. I really want a Desmosdici, but i'm not sure that's the right choice for me.

Ok I'm changing my Vote - Get the 1098R, then maybe a salvage bike for a track toy, If it were me, I would go 1098R, and Supermoto!!! Maybe Hypermotard??

I don't think I want two bikes at this time. When I want to go to the track, i'll just take the 1098R. I don't think I can justify having a dedicated track bike when I rarely have the time to go to the track. Not to mention, if i'm going to spend the extra money on top of the 1098R for a second bike, i'll just skip the 1098R and get a Desmo.

Understandable... But GOD forbid you lay down the 1098 much less as Desmo - at least if you get something cheap you can push it and not stress out about alot of $$ in damages.... Either way Good Luck!! I wanna see it if you get it!!

A local dealer has one. Pretty swet looking in person but unless I was a hardcore Bayliss fan, I'd still opt for a solid color. I think it shows the lines much better than the Troy rep.

I agree. I prefer the red 1098R, but I guess they didn't make it in '09. I would want the '09 for the updated traction control and gearbox.
