At the very least, I would get the bike through 5 heat cycles (riding it at operating temp and letting it cool down completely) and do an oil change before riding the wheels off of it. Wow didn't see the happy ending on this thread congrats man... its the smell of new bikes that get me... they are soooo fun, be careful though, enjoy it in good health.
