I took her out for about a 25 mile run today. It is a very fun machine! It amazes me how it gains speed and momentum as it reaches higher RPMs. I can see I have a lot to learn though. I took it very slowly. I went out to the Ortega Highway and ran to the first turnaround. It was great!

I picked up all my gear:

1. Puma riding boots.
2. Arai helmet with chromatic visor.
3. Ducati gloves.
4. Ducati jacket with back pad.
5. Bike chock.
6. Battery tender.

Great videos!

At Spectrum Motorsports in Irvine - where I bought the bike - they had a matte black example there with that exact exhaust system. They wanted to slap it on my red one right then and there! I was tempted. It made the bike sound a lot better! But I want to get familiar with the bike stock first and then do some mods.

I think I have found my new addiction!

Shoot me a PM when you're ready. I have a good friend in AZ with his own shop. I buy parts from him all the time at cost.

PS - Don't forget about the break-in period with the bike!

Break-in period for Ducs happens between the "off" and "on' key positions. The engines are run in at the factory, you can ride it like you stole it from day one.

There are varying schools of thought on this method.

At the very least, I would get the bike through 5 heat cycles (riding it at operating temp and letting it cool down completely) and do an oil change before riding the wheels off of it.

Regardless of whether you go easy or hard on it in the first 600 miles, you will inevitably have some metal floating around in your oil that you will want to flush out.
