Time for Corvette Racing to start Dominating ALMS now that the new toy is here....

I don't like the rear either, but people had the same reaction when the C4 was produced with the Square taillights

Are those paddle shifters on the steering wheel? It looks like there are silver paddles but isn't that a manual shifter...?

The paddle shifts are only labeled "Rev Match" which makes me believe that they are universal paddles to enable and disable the rev matching software --- this is based on several high res press photos that you may find online.

Otherwise, this car is available in both automatic and manual so maybe somebody at their special effects department had a mix up!
"The LT1 is mated to either a six-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission or an industry-exclusive TREMEC TR6070 seven-speed manual with Active Rev Matching."

I like a lot of the new vette. I am not so much bothered by the tail lights. The whole backend looks like crap. Especially the diffuser area.

A couple of you hit on some good points here. I like some of the direction that it's moving in but it wasn't enough. Just being a little better than the last model doesn't cut it and the technology still lags behind. Maybe the GM folks didn't want to transition to aggressively and scare away some of the long-time, base, die hard vette buyers. It's not a young guys toy. Costs too much for most young guys.

I'm sure the aftermarket parts folks will have plenty coming to make the car better and correct some the issues. For now there's not enough in the C7 for me to want to get rid of my current C6. The good thing about the vette is that it has a timeless muscle look that will keep me cruising with a big grin for a long while.

Just saw this and it seems as though they made a lot more improvements than I thought.

What's the black deal above the rear wheels? I think that could have been left off.

I believe they are the ait intakes for the diff. and tranny coolers-remember, in the 'vette, that stuff is in the rear, connected to the motor in front via the torque tube.

I personally think the car is awesome. I love the new front end, the fact that they actually used C6-R racing dept. to improve the airflow etc. The Rear end is hideous but I can get over that since only the people behind you will be seeing that!

Now - give a Z51 package with a track package. That would be an ideal track day car!

Does anyone else hate that speedo? I'm not sure if that's final but it looks like it's out of a video game.
