Terrible build quality? When was the last time you saw a brand new Viper burst into flames on the highway? The cars are absolutely bomb proof and can be beat to death on the track day in and day out while replacing nothing more than fluids, tires and brake pads.
It's not hard to build an interior when the majority of it is plastic. Sure the engine and mechanics are great. I love the sound and feel of that V10. But that's where the luster ends for me. Like I said, terrible ergonomics. The Viper I drove was one of the most uncomfortable $90k cars I've ever been in. Not to mention the A/C control knob actually came off while using it. The only interior more out of place, is in the Corvette with it's Cobalt SS steering wheel.
As far as track time goes, I'm sure the ACR is fantastic on a racetrack, but try spending time in a convertible on the track. Maybe it's just me, but it's not as much fun as it sounds.

Not only does the Cayman cost just a little over half as much as a Viper, but you'd be hard pressed to hear any creaks and rattles in the Viper with all that sound coming from the V10.
