Ford + facebook
Dialogue overheard at a joint Ford-Facebook “hackathon,” where engineers spent all night prototyping social Facebook apps for cars:
Ford hacker: “I want to find available parking in San Francisco. When you get five minutes away it routes you to a parking space. How do I integrate a social piece in that?”
Facebook hacker: “Who cares! You don’t need a social piece for that.”
Second Ford hacker: “It’s like anti-social!”
Second Facebook hacker: “Yeah, like ‘It’s MY parking spot!’”
First Facebook hacker: “Find three parking spaces near each other. Then it’s social.”

This was a really cool thing that Ford/Facebook did. Some of the other things they came up with (streaming of songs that your friends post on their walls, directions to restaurants that your friends "like", etc) are really cool and. It's amazing to think that they did all of this in basically 14 hrs from concept to testing to basically a finished, presentable app.
