Stop comparing this to a 458.

I love how threads on American cars go absolutely no where.

It's because there are always fanboys who must prove that they are better than various European cars. It should be judged on its own merit. This will be a hella fast car, that will sound awesome. IMO it is too big and bulky looks, the lines are really high, but I think it will be awesome. When people start comparing a GM to Aston Martins and Ferrari 458s, that is when these threads go nowhere.

The fastest car I have ridden in was a custom Honda Civic DX. It had a high compression engine with custom turbo from Japan. The car was the cleanest sleeper you would ever imagine. When I rode in it, the owner went on the thruway, and the lights looked blurry like they do during time lapse photography. The car would eat a 911TT or Camaro ZL1 for breakfast. My friend's dad has had 2 f430 spyders. Nowhere near as fast on full acceleration, but God did my hairs stand on end just from starting up it. My point? It isn't even close and doesn't matter if 12 out of 10 times the f430 would lose to the civic, it's a f*cking civic. Same goes for this. Don't compare the hp of the ZL1 to the 458. It's a f*cking camaro. The sound, driving experience, and deep pockets needed for entry are what the people who buy those are into. Moreover it would devour the ZL1 on a track.

We should respect the car for what it is, and at this price point it is top of the list. We don't need to bring on these ludicrous comparisons. Hence why these threads go nowhere.

I completely agree. I consider myself a pretty level headed guy. When I say it has more HP than a 458 do I mean it's better? HELL no! I find it impressive that a large part of society could possibly afford a car like this. I love Camaro's and have owned a couple but I'm aware of reality. The new Camaro is awesome. It's also 500 more pounds than it should be and is extremely too high. The interior needs work also. Just because it's as fast as a DB9 do I actually think it's as good as a DB9? NO. For what the ZL1 is, it's awesome. Hopefully I'm not considered a troll because I am not.

I love this car, but I do agree, it shouldn't be compared to a Ferrari or any other car costing 5 times as much. What I disagree in is you saying fanboys have to prove it is better than various Euro cars. From my experience 90% of the time it is Euro fanboys trying to prove their 3x more expensive cars are better on American threads.
Either way it shouldn't be done.

This car is great because it offers an incredible amount of performance to us who can't afford a Ferrari. And the quibbles about the interior: I have found only ONE fault with the SS interior, the steering wheel, and that is at least fixed on the new ZL1. Other then that the interior is great, much better than a $20k Civic. It doesn't need a better interior. For us who drive econoboxes it is great, and it helps keep the price down which is the point.

So the ZL1 fixes the one complaint I have had, adds 150hp, MRC and killer looks in a package that I could own one day. That is epic.
