Cheap cars deliver big thrills
At MAcarbon we work with parts for the latest and greatest supercars and exotics every day. We love all of the new stuff, but after 10 or so years in the business we really wanted to get our hands on cars from the past that we had or wanted when we were in Highschool or younger. I love cars that make you work to get the most out of them (slow car fast) and John loves the lines of the 70's and 80's semi-classic European cars.
John recently picked up this clean, but in need of a paint job 1983 BMW 635 CSI European model, and Lane picked up a 1985 Porsche 944. Neither car is the fastest or best handling car around but they both offer a boat load of fun via rear wheel drive and 5-spd manual transmissions. They are both fun to drive at legal speeds...which is something that can't be said for most modern sports cars. We plan on doing little repairs to both of these cars and driving them until we get bored. We have already added a 1972 Mercedes 350SL to the garage, so the BMW might have to leave us soon.
For anyone interested, I'll keep updating this thread with projects and repairs that we do on both of these and others.
Enjoy the pictures!
